US rosé sales soared by over 50% in past year

- Sales in the US have soared in the past year, with volume sales in the US soaring by over 50% in the past year, outpacing the general wine category which is growing at a far more sedate 4%, according to Neilsen data.
- Rosé wines are preferred more during the summer by 20% of regular wine drinkers, and by nearly 40% of women between 21 and 34 years old.
- Rosé trend will likely extend beyond the summer and into the rest of the year based on its sales performance over the past year.
- While rosé only represents 1.5% of the total table wine category, it is growing at a rate unheard of in other categories, said a Nielsen statement.
- Sparkling rosé is also having its moment in the sun, with $139m in annual sales, and growing at 19% year on year, more than double the total sparkling wine cateogories at 9% dollar growth.
