Chinese American delegate plans to recreate California's Napa Valley in central China
A group of Chinese American entrepreneurs are said to be ploughing RMB 500m (nearly $73m) into transforming a small town in China’s Hubei province into “China’s Napa Valley’, according to local press reports.
The delegate, headed up by Chinese American real estate businessman Chan Tianquing have reportedly signed a memorandum with the central Chinese proince Hubei for the construction of ten vineyards spanning a total of 333 ha, with the aim of recreating Californian vineyards within China.
Xishui County, close to the province’s capital city of Wuhan, apparently enjoys favourable climatic conditions, as well as good infratructure for transport and logistics.
According to Chan, a team of expoerts on winemaking and viticulture will descend upong Xishui for technical support The wine project is intended to beomce a “Disneyland” for wine, with not just vineyards, but entertainment and wine exhbition facilits in the offing. The timeline for the project has not been revelaed.
